MY APPROACH

 

I am dedicated to creating an authentic and trusting relationship with each client, using my years of experience, expertise, and intuition, to explore roots of pain and soul issues. I have developed my own personal style incorporating many proven theories, techniques, and creative approaches as well as drawing upon my own experience to provide an individualized and collaborative approach.  I often draw upon positive psychology, Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Theory, Emotionally Focused Therapy,  Expressive Arts, and Mindfulness and Self-Compassion practices. I specialize in trauma resolution therapy utilizing memory reconsolidation, EFT, and EMDR (currently in training). I have also received extensive training and mentorship from eating disorder expert, Dr. Anita Johnston, Author of Eating in the Light of the Moon, and largely incorporate storytelling and metaphor into my work. Due to my own recovery from an eating disorder, I also share my hope and understanding for the struggle of living with unhealthy eating while motivating my clients towards their own path of recovery.
